The S.5 is a small individual speaker that can be utilized for many purposes. It's a great starting point to build a home theater system for a small or mid-sized room. It can be added on to an Athena Point 5 MKII system to achieve 6 or 7 channel home theater systems. The S.5 is also a very good small bookshelf speaker that can be used in pairs with or without a subwoofer for many application including dorm rooms, offices, dens, bedrooms etc. The S.5 speaker combines great looks, flexible placement options, high power handling, and big sound from a small package, all in one! The S.5 has great bass response all on its own, but can be coupled with a Subwoofer for more impact.The cabinets are finished in high gloss black with silver front baffles which look beautiful in any décor. The finish also matches well with today's televisions and electronics. The S.5s also are a cosmetic match to other Athena models as well as being sonically timbre matched for mix and match flexibility. The speakers are shielded for use near a television.The included mounting bracket is one of the sturdiest and simplest designs on the market today. The S.5 features a one-inch teteron dome tweeter and a four-inch, molded polypropylene cone woofer. The tweeter has a dispersion enhancing faceplate for a wider listening window and excellent stereo imaging. The rear-vented design of the S.5 delivers extended bass response, so your listening experience will be accented with some extra "bump."
The high gloss black cabinets look beautiful in any home, and the silver baffles offer a stylish accent. The finish allows it to be used in conjunction with any other Athena Technologies models.
